Canasta is the Spanish word for “wonderful little basket blocks made with charm squares”.
Measures 33 1/2" x 39".
What you'll need...
Asst. Medium & Dark charm squares for blocks – 50
• The squares should be in 25 pairs of 2 matching squares.
Asst. Medium & Dark charm squares for outer border – 8 charm squares
Background fabric for Blocks & Setting Triangles – 1 yard
Sashing Fabric & Outer Border – ½ yard
Binding: ⅓ yard
Backing: 1 ¼ yards
Batting: 42" x 50" cotton or cotton-blend batting
Note: While it is not required, I recommend using the Fit to be Geese Mini Ruler to make the flying geese units in the basket blocks.
Canasta was made using the Avalon Collection by Fig Tree Quilts for Moda Fabrics. The smaller version was made using Jo’s Blue Variety by Jo Morton for Andover Fabrics.
*Because technology is so cool and I don't have to click anything, the PDF. patterns are delivered immediately upon payment. At least that's the way it should work.
** The paper pattern for Canasta won't be available until early September. The printer is running really, really behind schedule. (Yes, that's my story and I'm sticking with it.)
